PROTECT OUR PRESERVE

We are an organization of citizens who believe that the Preserve should remain a Preserve and free of commercial development.

OUR MISSION

POP is an organization dedicated to maintaining Scottsdale’s preserved desert and mountain lands by opposing inappropriate development which is contrary to the concept of the Preserve that was promised to the residents who created and bought it.

Protect Our Preserve Board Members:

Howard Myers, Board President: Myers is a valley resident of over twenty years. He served for nine years on the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the last two as the chair of the commission.

Betty Janik, Board Treasurer: Janik is a valley resident of 13 years. She was Treasurer of a Scottsdale HOA for seven years. Ms. Janik is a Windgate Ranch resident.

NEWS ALERT!

An anonymous donor has pledged to match dollar for dollar
up to $25,000 in contributions to Protect Our Preserve, Inc.

The funds have been earmarked for legal action

to stop the construction of the Desert Discovery Center

in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve without a vote.

The deadline for this offer is October 31, 2017.
We need you to donate today!

We can meet this goal if each of our supporters

donates just $40!

All donations are appreciated.  The additional $50,000 will provide the necessary resources to legally challenge the City of Scottsdale on the DDC issue.  This is the quickest way to stop Scottsdale in their tracks before any construction (or destruction) begins in the Preserve.

*Donations are not tax deductible.  “Why are donations not tax deductible?” many have asked.  ProtectOurPreserve.org has chosen a different non-profit designation in order to keep our actionable options open moving forward. We decided not to file tax-exempt status so as not to limit our ability to use the funds we have collected for various legal actions. If you have further questions with regard to our non-profit status, please contact a ProtectOurPreserve.org board member or email us at info@protectourpreserve.org.
