OUR MISSION

Protect OUR Preserve (POP) is an organization dedicated to maintaining Scottsdale’s preserved desert and mountain lands by opposing inappropriate development which is contrary to the concept of the Preserve that was promised to the residents who created and bought it.

Protect Our Preserve Board Members:

Howard Myers, Board President and Treasurer: Howard is a valley resident of over twenty years. He served for nine years on the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the last two as the chair of the commission.

Patricia VanCleave, Board Secretary: Patricia has been a resident of Scottsdale for 11 years, and is an active Social Committee member of Desert Summit HOA

The Protect Our Preserve PAC has been successful in collecting over 37,000 signatures to put a City Charter Change on the 2018 Ballot.

The public approved our Charter change by a wide margin, over 71% to less than 29%. That Charter change has been implemented and is now official.

We decided to file as a 501 c 4 status so as not to limit our ability to use the funds we have collected for various legal actions. However this means that donations are not tax deductible.
